PRENATAL

During pregnancy, women's bodies change on a daily basis. Throughout this time, it is more important than ever to support your body with regular exercise and movement. Although all pregnancies are unique, there are certain precautions we follow beyond the first trimester. Therefore it is recommended to complete our specific prenatal classes or follow the prenatal program from this point onwards.

We have created a series of classes, specifically designed by Han, for anyone, at any stage of their pregnancy. These classes focus on all the areas we need to strengthen during pregnancy and help you and your body prepare for when bub arrives. As the body changes shape during pregnancy, the way you exercise may need to change as well. We focus on stretching out your hips and spine and strengthening your glutes and pelvic floor to support your pelvis and prepare for giving birth. And equally importantly, you will strengthen your upper body in preparation for feeding and lifting your beautiful bub.

You can choose your own classes from our prenatal library depending on how you feel each day. Or, if you prefer a little structure and guidance, you can follow our 10 week program which can be started at any stage of your pregnancy. Your Pilates classes are laid out clearly for you each week and there are educational videos to help take some of the confusion out of pregnancy.

*It is essential to seek clearance from your GP or obstetrician before embarking on any kind of exercise while pregnant. Our Pilates also recommend seeing a Women’s Health Physio to assess your pelvic floor and offer any specific exercises you may require.

WANT TO JOIN OUR PRENATAL PROGRAM?

Our intention with our 10 week prenatal program is to provide women with clear and safe information alongside their movement classes during pregnancy. There is so much information out there, it's hard to know what to believe and who to trust. Our aim with this program is to help women to feel empowered and educated rather than confused and uncertain.

POSTNATAL

The recovery period post-pregnancy varies for everyone. After giving birth, either vaginally or via caesarean section, your body takes time to rest and heal, and this process needs to be respected. The postnatal period is usually made up of a lot of time spent sitting, feeding, nursing, carrying and lifting. Han has designed our postnatal classes to take into account the specific needs of new mums and focuses on spinal mobility, upper back stretches, hip stretches, hip strengthening and re-engaging the pelvic floor and deep abdominals.

You can choose your own classes from our postnatal library depending on how you feel each day. Or, if you prefer a little structure and guidance, you can follow our 8-week program. Your Pilates classes are laid out clearly for you each week, and there are educational videos to help take some of the confusion out of the postpartum period.

*You will need to see your GP or obstetrician to be cleared to exercise again after giving birth. Our Pilates also suggests seeing a Women’s Health Physio to assess your pelvic floor and abdominal separation and offer any specific exercises you may require in addition to regular Pilates.
